Kenya is preparing to host a major industry expo in Nairobi as construction, woodworking and renewable energy players look for new growth opportunities across East Africa. The Kenya Buildcon, Kenya Wood and Kenya SEPL Expo 2026 will take place from June 11 to 13 at the Sarit Expo Centre, bringing together exhibitors, contractors, developers, suppliers, engineers, architects, policymakers and investors. The event comes as Kenya’s construction sector rebounds and renewable energy remains central to the country’s long-term infrastructure and sustainability agenda.

Three Expos Target East Africa’s Built Environment
Kenya is set to host one of East Africa’s major sector gatherings next week as the Kenya Buildcon, Kenya Wood and Kenya SEPL Expo 2026 brings construction, woodworking and renewable energy industries under one roof.
According to a June 3 report, the three exhibitions were launched in Nairobi ahead of the main event, which is scheduled for June 11 to 13 at the Sarit Expo Centre. The exhibitions are organised by Futurex Group and ETSIPL and are expected to provide a business platform for manufacturers, suppliers, developers, contractors, architects, engineers, investors, policymakers and buyers.
The official venue listing says the 3rd edition of Kenya Buildcon, Wood and SEPL will feature 150-plus exhibitors from more than eight countries, while organisers cited in the launch report said entry will be free for visitors, with more than 125 exhibitors from at least six countries expected to participate.
The event will showcase innovations in building materials, construction technologies, project development, interior design, architecture, woodworking machinery, furniture manufacturing and sustainable construction practices.

Clean Energy and Smart Infrastructure Take Centre Stage
The renewable energy side of the expo is expected to feature electrical systems, solar power, battery storage, lighting, smart infrastructure and industrial development solutions. The SEPL exhibition profile says the event will focus on power, energy, electrical, electronics, lighting, renewable, solar and telecommunications technologies while running concurrently with Kenya Buildcon and Kenya Wood.
That focus fits Kenya’s energy transition agenda. According to the latest energy statistics, renewable energy sources accounted for 80.17% of Kenya’s electricity mix as of June 2025, with geothermal, hydro and wind supplying the largest shares. The same report showed installed renewable capacity of 2,930.2 MW, representing 80.48% of total installed capacity.
This makes the expo timely for suppliers of solar products, battery systems, efficient lighting, electrical equipment and building technologies that support lower-carbon construction. It also gives developers and contractors a platform to examine products that can reduce operating costs and improve energy efficiency in homes, offices, factories and public infrastructure.
Construction Rebound Adds Momentum
The expo arrives as Kenya’s construction industry shows signs of recovery after a difficult period. The 2026 Economic Survey reported that construction activities grew by 6.8% in 2025, reversing a 0.7% contraction in 2024. That rebound was partly linked to stronger activity in construction-related materials and wider economic recovery.
Industry support for the Nairobi exhibitions also signals confidence in the sector’s medium-term potential. The event has received backing from bodies including the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Kenya Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors, the Architectural Association of Kenya and the Kenya Renewable Energy Association. The Kenya Green Building Society is also serving as the sustainability partner.
Sponsors include Sunsynk as gold sponsor, Sparsh Pearl as powered-by sponsor, Megha Marketing EA Ltd and BVM through Solgen Enterprises as co-sponsors, while Wasib Solutions Kenya Ltd is sponsoring the event lanyards.
For Kenya and the wider region, the exhibitions are expected to strengthen collaboration between suppliers, investors and project developers. They could also support new partnerships in construction technology, wood processing, clean energy and sustainable infrastructure as East Africa continues to urbanise and demand for modern building solutions rises.
