U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $89.9 million in net outflows on October 5, reversing two consecutive sessions of inflows. The withdrawal came as Bitcoin traded below $86,000, roughly 32% below its $126,080 all-time high reached on October 6, 2025.

Key Overview

  • Bitcoin ETF outflows: $89.9 million
  • Bitcoin price: Around $85,559 at the time of reporting
  • Distance from ATH: 32% below the record
  • Bitcoin ATH: $126,080
  • Previous two-session ETF inflows: Around $293 million
  • Cumulative U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF inflows: $57.7 billion

Bitcoin ETFs Reverse Two-Day Inflow Streak

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $89.9 million in net outflows on Monday, reversing two consecutive trading sessions of inflows.

The reversal came as Bitcoin slipped below $86,000, putting renewed pressure on exchange-traded investment products linked to the cryptocurrency. The outflows also marked a change in momentum after Bitcoin ETFs had attracted around $293 million across the previous two October trading sessions.

The latest movement shows how quickly ETF flows can shift alongside changes in Bitcoin’s price and broader market sentiment.

Bitcoin Trades 32% Below Its Record

Infographic showing Bitcoin trading around $85,559, approximately 32% below its $126,080 all-time high reached on October 6, 2025.

Bitcoin was trading at around $85,559 at the time of reporting, putting the cryptocurrency roughly 32% below its record.

The decline comes almost one year after Bitcoin reached its $126,080 all-time high on October 6, 2025. The anniversary provides a notable reference point for the current market because Bitcoin has remained significantly below that level despite the continued presence of institutional investment through spot ETFs.

The gap between the current price and the previous record highlights the extent of the pullback from Bitcoin’s peak.

ETF Inflows Remain Positive Overall

Despite Monday’s withdrawal, the latest outflow does not erase the broader accumulation seen through U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs.

The funds had recorded three consecutive weekly inflow periods, with the week ending October 5 bringing approximately $241.1 million in net inflows. Cumulative net inflows stood at about $57.7 billion following Monday’s outflow.

The broader picture is therefore more mixed than the single-day figure suggests. ETF investors have continued allocating substantial capital to Bitcoin products, even as flows fluctuate in response to price movements.

Bitcoin ETFs Had a Strong Third Quarter

The third quarter also provided a stronger backdrop for Bitcoin ETF demand. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $6.34 billion in net inflows during Q3, making it their strongest quarter of 2026.

That performance followed roughly $5 billion in net outflows during the second quarter, indicating a significant reversal in investor flows between the two periods.

The shift suggests that demand for regulated Bitcoin investment products can change considerably as market conditions evolve.

Ether ETFs Also Record Outflows

The weakness was not limited to Bitcoin products. U.S. spot Ether ETFs recorded around $51 million in net outflows on Monday, extending their losing streak to five consecutive trading sessions.

Across those five sessions, Ether ETFs lost a combined $206 million. Despite the recent withdrawals, cumulative net inflows for the products remained at approximately $13.8 billion.

Other cryptocurrency ETFs recorded mixed results. Solana and Zcash products experienced outflows, while XRP ETFs recorded no net flow on Monday.

Outlook

The latest Bitcoin ETF outflows highlight the sensitivity of crypto investment products to changes in the underlying market. The $89.9 million withdrawal came after two sessions of inflows and as Bitcoin traded roughly 32% below its previous all-time high.

However, the broader ETF picture remains stronger than the latest single-day figure suggests. Cumulative net inflows remain substantial, while the third quarter delivered the strongest quarterly inflows of the year.

The key issue for the market will be whether the latest withdrawals represent a short-term reversal or the beginning of a longer period of weaker demand. For now, Bitcoin’s distance from its record and changing ETF flows remain important indicators of investor appetite.
