Recent diplomatic visits to Saudi Arabia and an upcoming trip to Germany are part of these efforts, with Ruto aiming to fulfill a commitment made by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for 200,000 jobs during his visit to Kenya.
Responding to criticisms regarding the frequency of his foreign trips, Ruto defended his engagements, emphasizing the potential benefits for the nation. On the economic front, he asserted, “Kenya has stagnated for many years due to leaders focusing on re-election. My focus is not on being re-elected; it’s on transforming the country.”
