Kenya and the Czech Republic have taken decisive steps to enhance their trade and investment relationship, building on a history of cooperation that dates back to 1993. During a visit to Kenya, Prime Minister Petr Fiala and President William Ruto met at State House Nairobi to consolidate their commitment to mutual growth and collaboration.

President Ruto expressed Kenya’s firm dedication to deepening the connection between the two nations. He acknowledged the benefits of the long-standing relationship and emphasized the need to broaden their partnership further.

The Czech Republic has made significant contributions to various sectors in Kenya, particularly in human capital development, information technology, security, and healthcare. Their investments in Kenyan hospitals, including facilities in Kilifi, Malindi, Vihiga, and Mbagathi Hospital in Nairobi, have left a lasting impact on the country’s healthcare infrastructure.

The bilateral agreements signed during this visit will facilitate more streamlined imports and exports between the two countries, bolstering economic ties and opening doors for new opportunities.

Prime Minister Fiala, on his three-day official visit, pledged to encourage Czech companies to invest more heavily in Kenya, ultimately facilitating smoother trade relations between the two nations. As a gesture of goodwill and to underscore the strong diplomatic relations, he invited President Ruto to visit Prague.

“I hope official contacts between our nations will become frequent. I look forward to seeing you (Ruto) in Prague soon,” Prime Minister Fiala stated, highlighting the collaborative spirit between Kenya and the Czech Republic.

The new trade and investment pact sets the stage for an optimistic future for both countries. This development not only deepens their economic ties but also fosters mutual growth and cooperation in various sectors. Kenya and the Czech Republic are on a promising path towards achieving new milestones together.
