At the 2024 Korea–Africa Business Summit, Samsung stands out as a prominent player, joining forces with government officials, business leaders, and economic experts from 48 countries to address key trade and investment agendas.

Focused on themes like industrial development, trade expansion, and climate action, the summit provides an ideal platform for Samsung to showcase its longstanding commitment to Africa’s development.

With a spotlight on trade expansion and job creation, Samsung’s journey in Africa reflects the continent’s aspirations. The recent launch of the Galaxy S24 series signifies a significant leap forward in mobile AI technology tailored for African markets.

Samsung’s investment in Africa extends beyond technology innovation. In Egypt, the inauguration of a new Smartphone Assembly Plant underscores the company’s dedication to local manufacturing and export growth.

In South Africa, Samsung’s collaboration with local authorities has led to the establishment of a multi-million rand manufacturing plant, signaling the company’s expansion efforts in the region. Plans for a new TV factory further highlight Samsung’s commitment to driving economic growth across the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.

In addition to economic endeavors, Samsung’s Equity Equivalent Investment Programme (EEIP) has made significant strides in SME development and environmental sustainability initiatives, positively impacting local communities.

Samsung’s focus on youth empowerment is evident through initiatives like the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) and engineering academies in Nigeria and South Africa. By equipping young Africans with the skills needed for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), Samsung is fostering a new generation of innovators and changemakers.

As Samsung continues to leverage its innovative technology, driven by AI, the company remains dedicated to driving sustainable development in Africa through strong partnerships and community empowerment initiatives.

In essence, Samsung’s legacy in Africa exemplifies a collaborative journey towards shared prosperity, driven by innovation, partnership, and a steadfast commitment to Africa’s growth and development.
